Reindeers visit Parish

Class: Reception Year: 2015 - 2016

We've had a wonderful surprise at Parish today, a visit from Santa, the elves and reindeers!

The reindeers, Harley and Rocky, let everyone stroke and pat them.  The children found out that reindeers love to eat hay, yet on Christmas Eve we must remember to leave them carrots and reindeer dust with plenty of sparkles. The children listened carefully to their hooves clicking, which reindeers use to follow each other when they are travelling through blizzards.  We also found out that if reindeers fall through ice, they are able to swim and climb out by themselves.

The children were excited to visit Santa in his grotto and share what they would like for Christmas. They loved singing jingle bells, when Santa got stuck up the chimney and many more songs for Santa while they were waiting to receive their gifts.
