Take One Picture at The Walker Art Gallery

We are proud to announce that our 'Amazing Artists' luchtime club have been lucky enough to have their work chosen for the 'Take One Picture' exhibition, at The Walker Art Gallery in Liverpool.  This is a fantastic achievement for the children, for which we are very proud of them!

'Take One Picture' is the National Gallery's countrywide scheme for primary schools. Each year the Gallery focuses on one painting from the collection to inspire cross-curricular work in primary classrooms. The challenge is then for schools to use the image imaginatively in the classroom, both as a stimulus for artwork, and for work in more unexpected curriculum areas. National Gallery Education then displays a selection of the work in the annual 'Take One Picture' exhibition at the National Gallery in London and  The Walker Art Gallery in Liverpool.   This year we have been given the piece 'An Encore Too Many' by Francis James Barraud.  This is currently on display in The Walker Art Gallery.  You can also find out more about the picture and the artist by clicking the link below;

Our piece is called 'big top' and the children have explored circus activities and how tiring and difficult working in a circus might be for a child. They have created their pieces through a mixture of collage, drawing and watercolour.

This will be on display from the 11th July until the 6th September.
