YEAR 6 BECOME HEART SURGEONS!

Lesson: Science

Class: Year 6 Year: 2015 - 2016

Bringing science to life - dissecting a pig heart!

After discussing and learning about the key parts of the human heart and the way in which blood enters and leaves the heart, Y6 watched Mrs Young dissect a pig’s heart. They then used their observational skills to try and identify key parts of the heart (vena cava, right atrium, right ventricle, pulmonary artery, pulmonary vein, left atrium, left ventricle, aorta). They found it fun … and slightly disgusting!
